Traditional attack surface management has long focused on discovering exposed assets, but visibility on its own does little to stop real threats. Criminal IP is now introducing AITEM, which it describes as the next evolution of attack surface management. The platform takes an AI-powered approach that links exposure discovery with investigation, risk prioritization, and response, aiming to close the gap between simply knowing what is exposed and actually acting on it.

At a high level, the shift AITEM represents is from passive visibility toward an integrated workflow:

    • Discovery of exposed assets
    • Investigation of what is found
    • Prioritization of risk
    • Response to identified threats

The core argument behind the launch is straightforward: knowing your attack surface is not the same as defending it, and Criminal IP positions AITEM as the tool that connects those stages into a single process.

Does your organization rely on attack surface management tools primarily for visibility, or have you started using them to drive prioritization and response as well?
