Citrix has released emergency updates to address a denial-of-service vulnerability in NetScaler that has been exploited in zero-day attacks. The flaw is tracked as CVE-2026-88779, and researchers are currently investigating whether it could also be leveraged for remote code execution.

The vulnerability involves SAML processing within NetScaler, and given that it has already been exploited in the wild, administrators should treat patching as urgent. Citrix has issued the updates outside of its normal release cycle, underscoring the severity of the situation.

    Organizations running NetScaler appliances should:

    • Apply the emergency updates from Citrix as soon as possible
    • Review their NetScaler deployments for signs of exploitation
    • Monitor SAML-related activity for anything unusual

The remote code execution angle remains under investigation, so the full risk profile may evolve as more details emerge.

Has your organization already applied the emergency NetScaler patches, or are you still assessing exposure?
