Brevo has confirmed a supply-chain attack in which threat actors stole a Cloudflare API key and abused it to inject malicious ClickFix scripts into its own websites and into JavaScript files embedded on customer sites. The injected scripts were used to distribute malware to visitors.

Because the malicious code was served through JavaScript that customers embed on their own pages, the compromise extended beyond Brevo's infrastructure and reached end users on third-party sites, a classic supply-chain escalation.

    Key points:

    • Entry vector was a stolen Cloudflare API key.
    • Payload was ClickFix scripts injected into Brevo sites and customer-embedded JavaScript.
    • Objective was malware distribution to site visitors.
    • Brevo has confirmed the incident.

If your organization embeds Brevo-hosted JavaScript on its own properties, it is worth reviewing those scripts and auditing any API keys or third-party integrations tied to the vendor.

Does your organization embed third-party vendor scripts on its sites, and if so, how are you validating them after this incident?
